Big crowds at today's Basel Tattoo Parade

After the successful Basel Tattoo For the first time yesterday evening, today's parade drew a large crowd in downtown Basel. 120 spectators watched the colorful spectacle on the side of the road under excellent conditions and thus confirmed the great interest in the Basel Tattoo. All bands of Basel Tattoo as well as 40 guest formations from Germany and abroad ensured an atmospheric atmosphere throughout the city.

The Basel Tattoo The parade led from Barfüsserplatz via Falknerstrasse to Marktplatz and via Mittlere Brücke to Messeplatz. Brass bands, traditional costume groups, dancers, historical vehicles, fanfare bands, cliques, Guggen bands, bagpipe formations, music bands and brass bands transformed the streets and alleyways of Basel into a happy and cultural spectacle from 14.00 p.m. The police bands from the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft were the first guest formation to walk the two-kilometre route together. The various groups from Germany presented themselves impressively, including the Badische Schalmeienkapelle Freiburg and the marching band Hamm-Herringen. The Schwyzer Nüssler and the Nünichlingler from Ziefern represented old customs worth seeing. This was followed by local groups such as the Fasnachtsgesellschaft Vereinigte Kleinbasler 1884, the Basel Drum Academy or the Schotte Clique 1947 Basel. American-style fifes and drums were also represented with the Swiss Mariners and the Wild Bunch Fife and Drum Corps.

At the Basel Tattoo Parade there were also all formations of the Basel Tattoo 2023. Among them the crowd favorites from the New Zealand Army Band, the elegant dancers from the Canadiana Celtic Highland Dancers, the Royal Mounted Cavalry and the Royal Guard from Oman. The Brass Band from the Ukraine, the passionate Banda Monumental de México, the Recruit Play of the Swiss Military Music and the Lucerne Marching Band were also in a good mood. The countless bagpipe players from Scotland, Canada and Switzerland were responsible for creating goosebumps along the route. A total of 2 participants took part in the parade.
